Shock Aero is an application that emulates, with varying degrees of success, the Mac windows layout, and at the same price, the Windows Aero interface of Vista in Windows 2000, XP and 2003.
Recently upgraded by the authors, with particular emphasis on the 3D aspects of the product, they updated its name to "Shock Aero 3D", as shown on the home page included in this same space.
Although not enough to achieve the functions that it imitates, the results achieved by Shock Aero are not entirely bad, because it can get the visual aspects of them. It is good looking, but not very practical.
You can switch to Windows Vista Aero or Mac OS Tiger style at any time, from the menu options. Tiger style orders the windows, but lacks the original animations.
Shock Aero is also a utility that allows you to save and restore the position or the exact location of your Windows desktop icons. This will be helpful if you are of those people who like to have them well-ordered, in place. Shock Aero is easy to use, and also offers two other secondary options: Show the desktop icons on top, or hide them in order to show background only.
